Beautiful, The Carole King Musical
Stephen Sondheim Theatre
11 December 2014

Jessie Mueller was fantastic as Carole King. Excellent voice and very entertaining show. Must-see!

The River
Circle in the Square
20 November 2014

Went to see the show a second time with George Go, Ann Hilton and Tina Silva.

The River
Circle in the Square
11 November 2014

Hugh Jackman once again proves he's a good actor in this tense drama. Seated on the first row but on the right side of the stage I felt so engrossed and almost part of the drama happening on the stage being only 4 or 5 feet away from the actor at times.

Cabaret
Studio 54
5 November 2014

Allan Cumming was very good as the creepy Emcee but Michelle Williams affected this atrocious English accent that sounded like an aging Betty Boop! The only thing I liked about her performance is the fact that she made Sally Bowles a second-rate performer as she's supposed to be in the original play I Am A Camera.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Belasco Theatre
28 October 2014

Michael C. Hall was terrific and believable as the botched-up German transgender. "Dexter" could sing! Saw the original production in the Village in 1998, this production is updated and a lot of fun to watch.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Ethyl Barrymore Theatre
15 October 2014

Spectacular debut of new Julliard grad Alex Sharp!

Theatre Boys
13th Street Repertory Company
12 October 2014

Excellent beginning for these young actors, quite entertaining, pretty good acting and singing.

White Trash
Producers Club Theatres
10 October 2014

Good try but not quite there yet, it could have been more forceful.

The Real Thing
American Airlines Theatre
8 October 2014

Great acting by the entire cast especially Ewan McGregor and Maggie Gylenhaal.

Fabulous! The Queen of New Musical Comedies
Times Square Arts Center
5 October 2014

Thoroughly enjoyable little musical. Great effort by the entire cast.

Love Letters
Brooks Atkinson Theatre
28 September 2014

Mia Farrow and Brian Dennehy were just great. The stage setting was very minimal, simple. The two were just reading their scripts, their letters to each other spanning several decades, but one can feel the emotion in their voices. They never interacted although they were sitting right next to each other so the spell was never broken.

Pageant
Davenport Theatre
10 August 2014

Very funny, extremely entertaining show. Highly recommended!

Drop Dead Perfect
Theatre at St Clement's
10 August 2014

Everett Quinton is still amazing. Brought back memories of the Ridiculous Theatre with Charles Ludlam. Very entertaining!

Here Lies Love
The Public Theatre
1 August 2014

Story of a family of thieves!

Heathers: The Musical
New World Stages
6 July 2014

Entertainng but better for younger audience.

Violet
American Airlines Theatre
1 July 2014

Very different from other Sutton Foster roles on Broadway but her voice still dazzles with emotional intensity.

If/Then
Richard Rodgers Theatre
24 June 2014

Very clean view of NYC. Idina Menzel has a nice voice. The plot can be confusing at times.

Casa Valentina
Samuel J. Friedman Theatre
23 May 2014

Harvey Fierstein's new play is about heterosexual men who cross-dress on weekends at a resort in the Catskills (based on a true story). Mare Winningham was superb as the wife of the owner and cross-dresser (Valentina) and so were Reed Birney, John Cullum and Patrick Page. Directed very capably by Joe Mantello.

Cinderella
Broadway Theatre
20 May 2014

The best parts of this musical are the amazing costume changes that happen instantly on stage, Cinderella from her rags to her ballgowns. The sets are beautiful too. In this revised version of the fairytale, Cinderella (Carly Rae Jepsen) does not lose her glass slipper but hands it to the prince, the stepsisters were not ugly and Fran Drescher as the stepmother was not specially mean.

Mothers and Sons
The John Golden Theatre
16 May 2014

Tyne Daly is a formidable actress in Terrence McNally's newest play yet again another AIDS-related play. Frederick Weller, Bobby Steggert and Grayson Taylor complete the cast.

Paul Anka
Kravis Center
05 April 2014

Thoroughly enjoyable with the undiminished talent of Paul Anka, singing his famous songs "Diana", "Lonely Boy", "My Way", etc.
